Army Sgt. Lindsey T. James

July 14, 2012

Army Sgt. Lindsey T. James of Urbana, Missouri is this week’s hero. Lindsey was just 23 years old when he was killed. Lindsey died in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. He was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Died on January 29, 2005. His mother tells his story, and what his hopes and dreams were in a video posted to the Internet Archives and you can read what his brothers and sisters in arms have to say about him at Fallen Heroes Memorial. One brother in arms Steven Briggs of Tennessee writes of Lindsey, “I had the honor of serving with Lindsey in Iraq. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. Lindsey was one of the best men I ever knew and was an inspiration as a soldier. I keep your family in my prayers.” Watch the video featuring Lindsey’s Mom narrating it, it describes Lindsey better than any words on a website can.
